Get Connected. Be Informed. Join the Next Generation Leaders Facebook Group!

The COF Next Generation Leaders group is a private, invitation-only discussion forum on Facebook. Its purpose is to provide you with opportunities to connect with other philanthropic leaders and engage in dialogue about issues that matter to you.

Add your thoughts, questions, and comments, about next generation philanthropy and help make this a valuable resource for you and your peers.

This group is led by a new COF Next Generation Task Force, made up of 17 philanthropic trustees and professionals, all under age 40. They represent family, community, corporate, independent, and international foundations, as well as a giving circle. The Task Force is providing the Council with expertise and guidance to shape future programs and services to maximize the impact of and support for next generation philanthropists and philanthropic leaders.

To join the Facebook group, please email nextgen@cof.org with your name, title, organization, and email address, or find the ‘COF Next Generation Leaders’ group on Facebook and  ask to join.

COF Next Generation Leaders Facebook Group FAQs

Do I need a Facebook account to join the group?
Yes. You can sign up at www.facebook.com

What if I don’t want to join Facebook but still want to join this group?
At this time, there are no alternatives. We are exploring other options to engage members outside of Facebook.

How much does it cost to setup a Facebook account?
Nothing.  Setting up an account is free.

Who is eligible to join this group?
Individuals and organizations that are COF members, eligible for COF membership, associated with a COF recognized affinity group, or members of a regional association.

How can I connect with other people in the group?
As a group member, you will be able to see who else is a member of the group.  However, you will only be able to see their full profile if you are “Facebook friends.”

Will other group members be able to see my profile?
Only if they are already your “Facebook friend” and then, only if you allow them to do so.  You can set your privacy settings so that other members of the group will not be able to view your profile. See http://www.allfacebook.com/2009/02/facebook-privacy/ for tips on privacy settings in Facebook.  You can only have one Facebook account per email address.

Can I post an item to the group anonymously?
Yes. Send an email to nextgen@cof.org with the subject line (anonymous post)  and include what you would like to post and where you would like to have it posted.

How do I know the information I post won’t be posted somewhere else?
All of the information you post in the group will be visible to group members only. It will not be available to your other “Facebook friends” not in the group.  You can send private messages to group members if you do not wish to communicate with the entire group.

I know other people who want to join the group. Can I invite them?
You can ask them to send an email to nextgen@cof.org with their name, title, organization, and email address.

What if I have other questions about this group?
